Frederick Haanan Mircoff, age 91, born in Boston, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026, in Gilbert, Arizona, surrounded by his loving family. He was a lifelong learner, treasured by family, friends, and a community who have lost a one-of-a-kind true icon.
Fred was the beloved husband of Marilyn Maxine Mircoff (of blessed memory) of New London, Connecticut, for 57 wonderful years. They raised their family in Irvington, New Jersey. He was a devoted father to Wayne (Amy) Mircoff, Sue (Stuart) Maltz; proud Papa to Elena (Natan), Hallie, Sam (Rachel) and Logan; and the immensely proud Big Papa to Gideon and Opal. He was also a loving cousin, uncle, friend and mentor.
Fred was predeceased by his parents, Eva and Harry Mircoff, of blessed memory.
Due to his love of learning, Fred held a Law degree, as well as graduate degrees in Statistics and Operations Research, and a degree in Pharmacy.
While he was deeply proud of his professional career, nothing filled Fred’s heart more than his family and a wide array of eclectic and interesting hobbies. He kept up with his grandchildren on the latest technologies, and regularly shared articles about nutrition and other topics of interest. He created a memoir for his friends and family entitled, As I Remembered: A Collection of Life Stories.
Fred will be missed dearly, but his family will carry on his message to always be vibrant, and never stop learning. The family requests contributions in Fred's memory be sent to Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix, AZ, or the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN).
