Gary Norman Williams

Beloved custodian of Chandler High School, having retired after 40 years of service where he touched many lives and made many friends. Gary was born in Red Oak, Iowa on November 28, 1961, the son of Clyde and Dorothy Williams. He passed at his home on January 17, 2024 at age 62.

In 1971, at age 10, he moved to Chandler with his parents and sister Sandra. Gary was a 1980 graduate of Chandler High School. Gary loved baseball and especially the St. Louis Cardinals team, he was also a history buff with detailed knowledge of the United States Presidents. Abraham Lincoln was his favorite president.

Gary’s life partner was Annette Pryor. The couple married at Harrah’s Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada March 13, 1995. They enjoyed 28 years together. There were no children. Over the past 6 years Gary had been the primary caregiver to Annette’s mother, Janet.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents: Clyde and Dorothy (Briggs) Williams. He is survived by his sister Sandra and husband Dwaine Raab; wife Annette and her mother. Gary is also survived by his maternal aunts, Alice, Elaine, Ruth and Reva; and also his father’s brother, Uncle Don, who held a special place in Gary’s heart.

Gary was a member of the Chandler First Presbyterian Church. Gary’s ashes were buried at Valley of the Sun Cemetery on February 12, 2024.
