In his early years, George found love and companionship in Jacqueline Barker, and their enduring marriage became a cornerstone of his life. Together, they built a life filled with love, understanding, and mutual support. Jacqueline's unwavering presence brought joy and strength to George's days.
Professionally, George was a skilled welder and heavy equipment mechanic. His commitment to his craft and his tireless work ethic garnered the respect of colleagues and peers alike. He was a proud member of IUOE Local 137, where his dedication and expertise left an indelible mark.
However, beyond his professional achievements, it was George's passion for trains that truly defined him. His fascination with these iron behemoths drove him to become an active volunteer at the Chandler Railway Museum for many years. His dedication to preserving the history of trains and sharing that passion with others in the community showcased his selflessness and commitment to making a difference.
George's legacy lives on through his daughter, Cynthia Dong; son in law, Larry Dong; and grandchildren Melissa Dong and Ryan Dong. He is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Jackie.
