

Georgia (Turetsky) Sparks, 65, entered the gates of Heaven on July 16, 2020 at her home in Prescott with family by her side. Born in Phoenix, she was the middle child of Samuel and Constantina (Speropulos) Turetsky. A lifelong Arizonan, she graduated from Maryvale High School and was a devoted wife and mother, talented entrepreneur and gifted writer and author.
While raising her children, she ran her own transcription service, became active in the political arena and even named Woman of the Year by the Arizona Young Republicans in 1985-86. She was also a candidate for the State Senate and House of Representatives from 1984-1988. While her accomplishments were many, her greatest achievement for which she was most proud was authoring and publishing three inspirational children’s books.
She was a woman of strong Christian faith, a prayer warrior with a genuine kindness and beautiful smile for everyone she met. She loved traveling to new places and having adventures with her husband, family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband of 12 years, Bruce; four children – Stephanie (Dominic) Menei; Joshua (Nicole) Hargan; James (Rachael) Hargan; Laura (Stephen) Hutchinson; six beautiful grandchildren – Cadence, Scarlett, Melody, Hannah, Tessie and Alex. Georgia is also survived by her step children- Kelly (Steve) Girvin, Autumn Sparks (Carmen DeCouto) and step grandchildren Alexander, Jade, Laiden and Margot. She was adored by her siblings Andriana Henson, Ted Turetsky, Pam Lemons, Burleigh Turetsky (deceased); many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at Valley of the Sun Mortuary in Chandler and burial at the National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix. Due to CoVid restrictions, services are limited to immediate family and close friends by invitation.
