I am sharing a message that was sent to me by Benson Chu who represented his father Richard Chu (Greg’s manager/mentor at IBM) at the memorial service.
Dad: 
 I wanted to thank you for asking me to attend Greg Chrysler's memorial service.  Very simply stated it was the best service I ever attended.  While I had only heard about Dr. Chrysler through you, I left there feeling I knew him personally and inspired by how he lived his life. 
 The service was beautifully done with heartfelt eulogies and music.  Many of the speakers mentioned how Dr. Chrysler helped plan the event himself.  I'm sure that he wanted us all to learn more from his experiences and he certainly succeeded.  I left there wanting to tell others about Dr. Chrysler which is why I was compelled to call you right after the service and also share his story with my family.  To sum it up, I learned a great deal about what it takes to be a man of faith and how a simple smile can have a positive impact on those around you. 
 Special tribute should be given to his wife, Sonja, who vigilantly stood by his side even as his life journey was impacted by ALS.  She is a testament to all that is good in married life and a shining example of the selfless sacrifice people make for their loved ones.  We prayed for Mrs. Chrysler last night so that she will feel God's comfort in her time of sorrow. 
Again, I felt privileged to attend Dr. Chrysler's memorial service on your behalf.  Please feel free to pass on my sentiments to Mrs. Chrysler.

I'm not sure how I met Greg, I just know he was a very good friend to me in our teen years! Like Denise Wurm I too worked at the New Hope K-mart so that may have been where we met. Greg was always a good listener and I enjoyed hanging out with him. I was so happy when he found me on Facebook so we could exchange a few memories and I could see how successful he had become. I believe the most impressive success Greg made was finding his wife Sonja; Sonja I am so sorry for your loss and I want to once again say how lucky he was to have you. I hope your memories together bring you peace and help you through this difficult time. My condolences go out to Sonja, Greg's mom and all of his close family and friends.

On behalf of the MDA/ALS Staff at Barrow Neurological Institute, our deepest condolences. Each time Greg came to clinic he always had a smile and seemed to exude an inner peace through the many challenges he faced. I was honored to have known him and be the first recipient of his book of photography and I will always cherish that. I will also never forget the amazing love and devotion Sonja had for Greg. I have and always will think of both of you often. May God's love sustain you through this time and throughout your lives.

My thoughts and prayers are  with Sonja and all of Greg's family.  We will always remember Greg's wonderful spirit throughout his illness.  He was an inspiration to us all as is Sonja.  My heart goes out to both you and Eileen in your loss.  Aunt Gerry & Uncle Duane Watt

Greg and I got to know each other thru school, church and at the Camp In the Woods going camping with our families. Seeing the pictures he has taken over the years shows his love for the outdoors. He has touch so many people's lifes and will be truely missed.

In my eyes Greg was a true hero. In addition to being an amazing person, a brilliant engineer, he battled this horrendous disease with true heroic spirit. I was lucky and blessed to know him.

Greg and I worked at the New Hope K Mart together when we were in high school.  I think of him whenever I am in that neighborhood.  Fritz and I had our breaks together.  He was a great friend during that time of my life.  

Sincere sympathies to his family.  He will be remembered with fondness.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Greg and Sonja and his entire family during this time. He will always be remembered with great fondness and affection from all his classmates.

I carpooled with Greg to the University of Minnesota for two years back during the 1970s.  My recollection is that Greg's goal was to be number 3 in his class.  His theory was that the number 1 student was under too much stress, since everyone was trying to knock him or her out of that spot and that number 2 was expected to try too hard to take over the number 1 spot.  I was just impressed that he could seriously shoot for the number three spot at one of the top engineering schools in the United States!

My sympathies go out to all of Greg's friends and family.  He contributed a great deal to the world and I know he will be missed.
