Hector Bustamante

Hector Bustamante, age 47, passed away on August 2, 2026. Born on August 3, 1978, in Phoenix, Arizona, Hector built a life rooted in faith, devotion to family, and steady dedication to the work he did each day. He was a resident of Queen Creek, Arizona.

Hector worked as a CDL Truck Driver, a role that reflected his reliability and commitment—showing up, providing, and carrying responsibility with quiet strength and purpose.

Hector was a family man and a Godly man, married to his high school sweetheart, Jessica Chavez, for 22 years. He poured his heart into the life they built and the family they cherished. He is survived by his wife, Jessica; his daughter, Destiny Denay Chavez-Bustamante; and his son, Elijah Hector Chavez-Bustamante.

In the rhythms of everyday life, Hector’s warmth and spirited presence were unmistakable. Known as a sports enthusiast, he also took joy in the things that made him uniquely himself—bicycling, being a shoe connoisseur, and, with a sense of humor that stayed with people, serving as the king of nicknames, jokes, quotes, and references. Many knew him by the names he wore with affection: “Meatball” and “King Hector,” and by the loud voice and laughter that carried across our hearts- forever to be a treasured echo in the back of our minds.

Hector’s faith and community ties were an important part of his life. He was connected to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Queen Creek, AZ, and the Knights of Columbus, where fellowship and service helped shape the way he lived and the way he gave of himself to others.

Hector is also survived by his mother, Ema Bustamante; his sister, Cindy; and his brothers, Tony, Daniel, and Alvin. He is further survived by extended sisters Marcella, Elvira, Juanita, Rebecca, Xanadu, and Monzerrat; extended brothers Raymond, Joe, Bobby, Isabel "Tocho" and Mario; and his mother-in-law, Maria Elena Chavez—along with endless amounts of friends and colleagues who will carry his memory forward.

He was preceded in death by his father, Juan Antonio Bustamante; his brother, Adam Michael Bustamante; his grandparents; and several loved ones.

“Your love will always guide us.” This message stands as a lasting reflection of what Hector gave to those around him—love that remains, even in absence, and a presence that will continue to be felt.

Visitation will be held at Valley of the Sun Mortuary, 10940 East Chandler Heights Rd, Chandler, AZ 85248, on August 21, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Funeral Service will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 20615 E Ocotillo Rd, Queen Creek, AZ 85142, on August 22, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm. Hector will be laid to rest immediately following the funeral service at Valley of the Sun Mortuary and Cemetery in Chandler, AZ.
