Jared Austin Brandstatter was born on May 13, 1996 in Scottsdale, Arizona to Heimo and Corinne Brandstatter of Chandler, Arizona (formerly of Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada). Jared embarked on his journey to a higher universe this November at the age of 20. Jared was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Inge Brandstatter of Kelowna, British Columbia.
Jared is survived by his parents, Heimo and Corinne Brandstatter, his brother, Kyle Brandstatter (sister-in-law Erica, and niece Poppy), his sister Kiara Brandstatter, his grandparents, Helge Brandstatter, Wally Zayonce and Joyce Zayonce, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Throughout his young years Jared lived in Scottsdale (Arizona), Carmel Valley (California), Lake Tahoe/Truckee (California), Reno (Nevada) and Chandler (Arizona) where he graduated from Hamilton High School in 2014. He then went on to attend college in both Flagstaff and Chandler, Arizona.
Jared was passionate about sports, having played competitive baseball for many years, and as an avid outdoor enthusiast, he was an accomplished skier, hiker and mountain biker. Jared was also a deep thinker who was interested in health, meditation, yoga, poetry, reading and playing the bass guitar. He loved to learn and was very motivated by his educational pursuits.
Jared loved nature and one of his greatest joys was visiting the family cabin on Okanagan Lake, British Columbia, Canada. Jared loved and cherished the time there at annual reunions and at the age of ten wrote a heartfelt letter expressing his vivid memories of time shared there with family.
Family conversations often centered around his concern for wilderness conservation, preservation of the earth’s natural resources and the sustainability of the planet for future generations.
Many beautiful souls have expressed the desire to make donations in Jared’s memory. Jared’s love of nature and the beautiful outdoors have inspired us to choose the Sierra Club as an organization that would best represent and honor Jared. The Sierra Club is the nation’s largest and most influential grassroots environmental organization. Successes range from protecting millions of acres of wilderness, to helping pass The Clean Air Act, The Clean Water Act, and Endangered Species Act. More recently the Sierra Club has made history by leading the charge to move away from the fossil fuels that cause climate disruption and toward a clean energy economy. We would like to extend an invitation to contribute to the Jared Brandstatter Legacy

A celebration of Jared's life will be held at Gold Canyon Resort in Gold Canyon, Arizona at the foot of his beloved Superstition Mountains.
It is beautiful to exist, to love and to be loved
