Jean (Kollmon) Peterson (85) of Sun Lakes, Arizona passed away on May 27, 2021. She was born on December 9, 1935 to Charles and Emily Kollmon in Chicago, Illinois. She graduated from Oak Lawn High School in 1953. She married Raymond Joseph Peterson on June 10, 1955. Together, they were residents of Chicago Ridge, Illinois until they moved to Sun Lakes, Arizona in 2005.
Jean loved her Lord and Savior. Her love for the Lord grew when she started attending Oak Lawn Bible Church and she never looked back.
Jean raised four wonderful children. Mary Kay was the eldest, Pam was the second in command, Ray was the third wheel, and John was the caboose. Jean enjoyed being a mom, a great cook, waiting on her husband, being a great wife, loved serving in her churches, and most of all a great Upwords and Yahtzee player.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Raymond Peterson; parents Charles and Emily Kollmon; sister Helen Garrison and brother Charles Kollmon.
Jean is survived by her children: daughters Mary Kay (Don) Koczor and Pam (Bob) Dinolfo; sons Ray Jr.(Laura) and John; grandchildren John, Joe, Angela (Dan), Stacy, Jason (Briaunna), Robert, Eric, Tara, Laurenand Mike; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Mason, Levi, Ariaunna, Kameron, Kolton, Daxton and Oaklynn; and numerous nephews and nieces. Jean is also survived by her sister Nora Koeppen, sister Bea Rich (Mike), sister in law Josephine Kollmon and brother Al Kollmon.
She was a proud mom of four great children. A housewife, grandma, great grandma, pre-school teacher, church secretary, sports mom, taxi driver, great cook, great volunteer, and a great friend.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Sun Lakes, 9535 E Riggs Road, Sun Lakes, AZ at 10:00am PT Wednesday, June 2, 2021. The service will be livestreamed via: Youtube.com Sunlakesbaptistchurchlivestream
