I'm not sure what to say about Uncle Jeff.  Although he seemed rough to many, that's not all I remember him as.  He can also be funny and caring.  He didn't have a problem with us calling him "Uncle Chocolate" when we were little, and the nickname stuck while he called me legs.   I wished I could have made it out to seen him again, and will miss him. 😥

Not sure where my story ended but I am not one to give up. 
We took in Ricky’s three boys who he named Huey, Louie and Dewey for a few months. Jeff even learned to make no sew fleece blankets and made them as Christmas gifts for his friends at Mother Allied. 
As we got older we had other issues that made us stronger. We had battles with breast cancer the beginning of kidney disease before we even left Buffalo. But it was his decision with my concurrence to move to Arizona to help his parents who were suffering from debilitating medical issues. However, we had God’s hand in moving us along. Jeff retired at 62 and my plan was to do the same. But we know the saying Man Plans and God laughs. Well instead of retiring I was promoted and then promoted again. In the meantime our grandchildren ages 2 4 and 6 came to join their 10 year old. So instead of leisurely retirement he became Mr Mom while I traveled conducting nationwide trainings and overseeing offices in five Western states. The year 2014 tried our resolve. In February our beloved Loretta DelValle was diagnosed with lung cancer which metastasized to her brain, taking her from us that July. In the same timeframe his Dad and my Mom suffered serious health setbacks to the point that Dad was taken in September and Bella in the beginning of December. Still we got back up from the devastating blows only to find we were back down again. I underwent a double mastectomy and nine months later we began the battle of our lives which culminated with our celebrating the life of a son brother husband and grandfather named Jeffrey Cadle my love, my friend. my confidant and partner in crime. Rest in peace my love until we meet again and celebrate all that we accomplished during our very short marriage. Chilly Willie I will keep the lights on and our bed warm. You went through so much and fought so hard to stay with me I will continue to march on and live up to your legacy. 1-4-3

I believe the term polar opposites appropriately described me and Jeff. He was reserved while I was outgoing; I loved to read while he abhorred books. One thing we did have in common was love of family and love of sports. Somehow that simple connection kept us standing firm from that first Baker dance when I was 14 and he was an old 17 year old. His first introduction to my very large family was on Mother’s Day in 1971. I figured if he didn’t run then he was a keeper. Despite meeting my fiver older brothers, including the enforcer Tony and having my two-year old nephew eat his cake with the spoon Jeff was using (Little Mike absolutely refused to eat with someone else’s spoon or fork even his parents) I knew that despite his trepidation he was accepted and would fit right in. With that humble and overwhelming beginning we began our lives together. First we endured one year away at Gannon College and the completion of my senior year in high school. Finally two months after I graduated we were married and as Karen Carpenter sang We had only just begun. 
During the next fifty three years we endured much, tsunamis like the deaths of siblings on both sides - some younger and some older, including my brother Angel who received his military burial the day after Jeff passed. But it was the care that Jeff gave my sister Carmen while she battled metastatic breast cancer that had traveled to her brain where you saw the man Jeff truly was. 
If you knew Jeff you knew how much he hated snow and the cold. But during January 1995 he traveled to Buffalo and took Carmen to her radiation treatment every day. 
When my brother Tony lost his legs and could no longer care for his children he did not hesitate to take in Tony’s 18 month old daughter Gloria who stayed with us until she was five and was returned to her mother. It wasn’t just my side but his side as well. He was always there to lend a hand to his sister and her three children but when his brother Ricky had issues we took in his

Unc. We love and miss you dearly. They don’t make them like you anymore. Coarse but a man that was always all about his action. To the Uncle, that taught me how to swim, …feet first…Continue to watch over us, until we meet again.  Thank you for opening up and always showing my kids love. Those memories will last forever.

In Loving Memory of My Dear Brother-in-Law, Jeffrey Cadle

Jeffrey, you were such a kind, loving and supportive person, and I feel truly blessed to have had you as my brother-in-law.

One of the memories I will always treasure is when you and Elizabeth travelled all the way from the USA to London to celebrate Kevin and I getting married.  My father had passed away, and you made a special point of dancing with me. That simple, loving gesture meant more to me than you could ever have known, and it is a memory I will carry in my heart forever.

I will also always remember the wonderful friendship and laughter you shared with my beloved Kevin. The two of you would joke together on the telephone, and Kevin would always say, “Is that Daddy Day Care?” because you were caring for your grandchildren on a permanent basis…… they were always up to mischief  and you and Kev would laugh about their escapades. It was a reflection of the kind of man you were — loving, devoted to your family, and always willing to be there for those you loved.

Nothing was ever too much for you. You gave your love, your time and your support so generously, and you touched the lives of so many people with your kindness.  Kev was so grateful for the support you gave to Mom and Dad.

Jeffrey, you will be greatly missed, but you will never be forgotten. Your memory will live on in the hearts of your family and everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving you.

Rest peacefully, dear Jeffrey. May you dance among the angels and be reunited with those you loved.

My friend Isa...the distance between us can't erase the memories I have of you and Jeff.  Our high school years watching him play basketball for Baker, when you told me you were going to marry him , all packed in your mothers house the day of the wedding and when I had a fight with my mother and hung out at your apartment on Prospect Avenue !  He was always nice to me and even surprised me one day when I opened a little bakery in South Buffalo...he just sat down and we had a nice talk and few laughs. I wish that I could have helped you during his illness. .Rest in Peace.

Uncle Jeff and Aunt Isa were my sister Carol and my babysitters as very little girls. We affectionately called him “Uncle Chocolate “ our special nickname for him and in return I was nicknamed “Hips” and Carol “Legs” only by him. He was always so sweet and kind to us. When my mom was dying he was so supportive and even cried with me. He was such a tough guy that him crying with me touched my heart. I still have the curio cabinet they gave me when they moved to Arizona. When he was diagnosed with all the cancers a couple ago, Aunt Isa and I made sure I made it out there to see him and I am so grateful to have had that last time together . Since the first day I can remember my dad and I were best friends. I was like his shadow wherever he went, I wasn't that far behind.  It was the October storm, I remember my mom was stranded in the Buick Regal on Niagara Street trying to get home. My dad had the expedition and he was trying to get home. My brother Rob and I were the only two people in the house. My brother didn't know how to cook. So that day we ate chicken breasts marinated in Italian dressing and spinach with mozzarella cheese (same way daddy made it) and I believe white rice. Once all the food was prepared. My father came in the house asking, "Did your mother get here yet? I had to drive on the sidewalks just to get home. Are yall good? Who cooked?" I thought I was going to be in trouble for cooking. I told him I cooked.  We all sat down and ate and waited for mom to finally make it in the house.  That storm is the main reason I waited til I turned 21 to get my license and I still dont drive in the snow. I remember Antoine use to always say, "Papa can you make me a milk shape?" Thank you for taking my children in and raising them as you did us.  Thank you for giving me the gift of life even though you called me your PITA. (Pain In The Ass) I remember I called you after work. Our normal conversations every other word was a curse word. On this particular you weren't cursing but I was.  All of a sudden I hear, "Hey Lady, you curse like a sailor." It was grandmommy. I didn't know she was in the car and you bust out laughing so hard I got embarrassed.  I said, "Damn, you set me up. I aint even know she was in the car." You said, "I didn't set you up. I've been telling you about your mouth for years. You never know who is around.  But I did get you." We all shared a laugh that day. I will forever be daddy's girl. I love you and you're greatly missed. I want you back so bad it hurts like hell.

My father was my best friend, my first protector and the man who taught me how to throw down in the kitchen. My father taught me that tough love was the best love. Even though we didn't see eye to eye at times my mom still called me "Jeffrenia". I was my dad's twin. I will forever be daddy's  girl. I am definitely taking this ordeal extremely hard. I just wish I could have one more hug, hear one more "Leave it alone, let it go. " MY dad didn't always say he loved us. However that was the last conversation that we had and at the end. He did tell me that he "loves me." Dad please continue to bless and protect us. I can hear you in the back of my head telling me I got this.  Deep down I feel like I don't. I missed out on a lot and I wish I could turn back the hands of time just to be around more.  The Bible states that woman was created from a man's rib.  However since Iost you my right ribs hurt, my head is cloudy, I'm extremely drained, heart is numb and hurts so bad it's a pain I never felt before. I can tell you that it hurts worse than my back every could. I really dont want to let you go. In my eyes you're still hear with me. I hear your voice in my subconscious when I wake up and before I go to sleep at night. I love you forever and always. Love, #ForeverDaddysGirl

Uncle Jeff was the best. It’s true, for those who knew him he was funny and caring. You would never know it by looking at his tough guy exterior at family get togethers with those big sunglasses on usually sitting watching all the del Valles run circles around Bella’s, and then Aunt Gloria’s house. He really did have a soft interior - for those he liked, and I am grateful to be in that category. I still remember the last time I went to fantasy island with my nephew Joey I was shocked to see uncle Jeff and Antoine there. He even got on a ride with us! For those that knew him, you know that’s not something expected or in the ordinary, but he always made his love known. He will be missed deeply.

As most of you know, my father was a movie buff. As kid’s he used to take us to the $1.50 movie theater. I was OBSESSED with “The Bodyguard” soundtrack, so one day after school he took me to the $1.50 show to see the movie. He bought himself a ticket to “Best of the Best” and me a ticket to “The Bodyguard”. When attempting to go in, the usher required that I have a parent or guardian, as I was only 12. He sacrificed seeing what he wanted to see so that I could see the movie I was aching to see. Grant it, the next day I had to sit through the movie he wanted, but it was well worth sitting through that truly awful movie after seeing what I wanted the day before. Rest in peace dad, the memories you made will last the rest of my life.
