

Born in the borough of Queens in New York City, Jennifer was the third of five children of Bob and Donna DaSilva. After the family moved to Albuquerque, Jennifer attended and graduated from La Cueva High School in 1992. She attended Arizona State University, where she earned a BA in elementary education in 1999. Over the next 17 years, Jennifer explored her passion of teaching and instilling the thirst for knowledge to children of the Alhambra and Mesa school districts. She took great pride in the success of her students, and earned the Excellence in Education Award while in the Alhambra district.
Jennifer met her current husband, Adam Whitescarver in 2011, and the two were married in a beautiful ceremony in Maui, Hawaii on October 8, 2014. Jennifer enjoyed movies, reading, fine dining, and, of course, teaching. She was a beloved wife, and mother to her two beautiful children Jake and Ally. They were her world, and she always worked diligently to provide the very best for them. Family was extremely important to Jennifer and “the village” as she called them, were very close. She preferred spending time with her family, especially around the holidays.
In april of 2016, Jennifer was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia. Over the next several months, she fought the good fight and faced her disease with dignity and determination. Jennifer succumbed to her disease on Sunday, October 30, 2016. She passed in her home, and was surrounded by the comfort and love of her family. She is survived by her husband, Adam Whitescarver, her two children, Jacob “Jake” Jones and Allyson “Ally” Jones; her parents, Bob and Donna DaSilva; three sisters, Debbie Thomas, Barbara Valadez, Jessica Hicks; brother, Bobby DaSilva; three brothers in law, one sister in law and eight nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Leukemia Research Foundation in her honor.
A viewing will be held on Friday, November 4, from 9 until 11 am, followed by funeral service at 11 am at Valley of the Sun Mortuary.
