

Jimmy Carl Mason, 75, of Queen Creek, Arizona, passed away in Mesa, Arizona on June 3, 2026. He was born October 8, 1950 in Salinas, California to Carl "Buck" Henry and Dixie Faye (Luker) Mason. He was the youngest, having an older sister, Jearlene (Mason) Boggs.
At the age of six weeks, his mother brought him home to Queen Creek, Arizona.
Jim attended Queen Creek schools then Chandler High School, graduating in 1968. He served his career in law enforcement. Jim attended Mesa Community College receiving an Associate of Applied Science Degree. He started with Gilbert Police Department then transferring to Mesa Police Department retiring in 1999 as a Detective Sergeant, for a total of 25 years.
After his retirement he had several jobs to keep him busy He worked security for the GM Proving Grounds until they moved to Yuma. The last as a Security Officer for Banner Health. He enjoyed working around the yard, quiet time with his family and his annual trip to Utah.
Preceding him in death were his parents, sister and two nephews: Brent Boggs and Craig Boggs. He is survived by his loving wife, Anita; Four children: Shelley (Mike) McKown - Mesa, AZ; Jamie Lynn Jolley - Atlanta, GA; Step-Sons: Joseph "JD" Douglas (Rachel) Fotheringham - Mesa, AZ and Ryan Fotheringham - Queen Creek, AZ; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren; Nephew, Gary Boggs - Queen Creek, AZ; nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Jim will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 20637 E San Tan Blvd, Queen Creek, AZ 85142, on June 13, 2026, at 10:00 am.
Jim's Graveside Service will be held immediately following the funeral at Valley of the Sun Mortuary & Cemetery, 10940 E Chandler Heights Rd, Chandler, AZ 85248 on June 13, 2026, at 11:30 am.
