John E Short Sr.

John was born February 07, 1945 to Earl and Florence (Reed) Short. attended the Augusta Military Academy, where he was Band Member of the Year. He went on to graduate high school in Delaware in 1964. From 1966 to 1969, John was enlisted in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was Army Intelligence, as well as a Marksman.

John retired to Arizona, where he eventually met his wife, Linda Hatleli-Short in 1995. John was honored to be a part of the American Legion Post 35 in Chandler, Arizona and a trumpet player for the Department of Arizona Voiture 1466 40/8 Organization.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Florence. And he is survived by his wife, Linda; his five children, and two step-children.

John will be dearly missed by all he loved and who loved him.

A Memorial Service for John will be held on Saturday, November 17th at 1:00pm, at American Legion Post 35, located at 2240 W. Chandler Blvd. Chandler, Arizona 85224-6156. (One light west of Dobson on Chandler Blvd at Carriage Ln; North side of street.) 480-821-0002. Potluck to follow.
