Mr. Washburn was my 4th grade teacher. I had no idea he had passed, but always thought of him fondly. He encouraged learning to students eager for knowledge  and taught well. I'll never forget his boisterous laugh, and sometimes stern nature.  My heart  goes out to all of the lives he touched.. May God rest his soul.

We hit the Jack Pot 8 years ago when we moved in next door to John and Marcey.  He was taken so fast that it's still hard to believe we won't see him out on his walks or at our Friday Night get together.  We will miss your sweet smile, John. We're here for you, Marcey.

I remember when Briana came along. John was so proud of her. But never wanted to admit he was a GRANDPA!  It's hard to believe that she's a young woman now. I will always love John, Marcey and ; Denise and I grew up together as sisters.  Before Janet came along (Glad she did; love her and Bob and family too!!)  I will always remember John's infectious  laugh and when he got excited; his :"WHOOO".  Always brought a smile and a laugh out of me:)  Dan and I went on vacation in SC a few months ago: and found an incredideble Sattern Missile firework,,, Dan said to me' "Oh My God; John Washburn would love this!!!  We will set it off at my Dad's in memory of John!!  And I'm sure We'll hear a "WHOOOO! and we'll make a toast to him!!  We are so blessed to have the Washburn, Bruce, and Tolar's in our lives.  We have so many wonderful memories; and we Love you all!!!  Our prayers are with you; and our love.

John was one of the nicest people I ever met and a hoot to be around.We will all miss him.

John our Happy go Lucky Friend at our Friday nite club nites,He was so considerate ,honest,kind,aware of others feelings.He had a way to always make you feel welcome and comfortable around him.His dry sense of humor was one of a kind,
