Joshua was born on October 10, 2000 in BIllings, Montana. He graduated from West High School in 2020. During his time in high school, Joshua was a member of the West High School Varsity Cross Country team.
Joshua was very protecting and giving. He loved helping children in a special needs classroom and he was a volunteer for the Special Olympics. He enjoyed hanging out with people, both family and friends, from all walks of life.
Joshua had many hobbies. He enjoyed weight lifting, working out, and running. He was a very active young man, spending time cycling the Beartooth Pass in Red Lodge, Montana and hiking the mountains of Montana and the deserts of Arizona. Joshua also enjoyed fishing and kayaking, and he was interested in precious metals.
Joshua will be remembered as being friendly and caring. He was always happy and had a great sense of humor. He genuinely cared for all the people around him. Protecting people and being fair was in his blood. Some of his most notable traits were selflessness, determination, humbleness, and service to others. It was natural for Josh to follow his father's footsteps into law enforcement.
Joshua is survived by many beloved friends, family members and his canine best friend, Hampton. He will be remembered by many law enforcement agencies; Gila River Police Department, Maricopa County Sheriff's Department, Arizona Department of Corrections, Yellowstone County Sheriff's Department, and Billings Police Department, as well as many friends from all over the country. He is preceded in death by his father, David Briese Jr., his grandparents, David Briese Sr. and Joanna M Briese, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Public Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 9:00 AM at Sun Valley Community Church- South Gilbert with a Committal Service in Billings, Montana.
