Karla J. Towne-Schmidt

6-27-1954 to March 9, 2011

Born in South Bend Indiana to Eugene and Shirley Towne she attended school in this area while developing a lifelong passion for horses, competitive riding and a deep love for animals. She attended Notre Dame and was always loyal to their sports teams. She began her flying career with Delta Airlines and traveled the world. She moved to other assignments coming to FlexJet where she served as chief flight attendant and developed their flight safety training program. Her final assignment and the one she felt most blessed to have was as the flight attendant for the Malavalli family where she was able to travel and enjoy the world.

Karla loved life and achieved virtually all of her dreams. She hit the peak of her competitive riding by winning both the Congress and World titles in Western Pleasure in 1992. She was able to travel and explore over 50 countries and enjoyed every minute while reaching a high professionally. She was loved by everyone that knew her and always had a smile and a friendly word for all.

She leaves a loving and devoted husband, her father, her sister and brother in law, 2 nieces, 3 ½ great nieces and nephews and a step daughter and three grandchildren. She cared for all of her friends and always went above and beyond for them. She left also many people she included as extended family including Trish, John, Dan and the Malavalli extended family. She was loved and will be missed by all.

Service will be held Saturday March 19, 2011 to celebrate her life at 2:00P
