To Kim's Family and Friends, I had not been in the Main Library in Mesa since Covid19 hit us. Yesterday, I went in to pick up books. I was stunned to see the In Memoriam on the wall by the Main Desk. Kim ran the Page Turners Book Club that I belonged to . She and I hit it off right away, she is from Connecticut and I am from Massachusetts.  She was very interested in my two young granddaughters 9 and 6 and both gifted. As a former teacher she was blown away by them.  I will miss her friendship, her laughter, and her brilliance. I will never forget her. May she Rest in Peace.

I am the Program Director and got to know Kim very well over the many years she came to our club. One of the highlights of our trip to Mesa each year was dropping into the library to renew our library cards.  She was such a nice person and made us feel like family. Each January we still miss Kim's presentations.

I was the Programs Chair for our computer club at Superstition Sunrise RV Resort in Apache Junction, a 55+ community. Kim gave us several presentations about the Mesa Library. She radiated such energy with a smile that was contagious. She covered so many topics about the Mesa Library, giving us insight into what they have to offer senior citizens. What a loss. From the tributes here, it is obvious she touched so many lives, and will be remembered for her many contributions.

My name is Ian Stuart Meyers and I had the pleasure of taking freshman English class at the Williams School with Kim Belair and am so saddened to hear of her passing. She was an excellent educator and I truly appreciated learning from her. 

Through my years in the education system I came across many valued educators, but Kim Belair really made a lasting impression upon me and she certainly learned how to write a proper research paper. 

My heart felt condolences go out to her loved ones and all those grieving this tragic loss and everyone is in my thoughts during this difficult time.

Remembering Kim brings sadness but also a smile. From the first moment I walked into the library she made me feel welcome. We became friends quickly after that. I will always remember her smile and laughter. My favorite quote by Maya Angelou, “People  may not remember what you say, but they will always remember how you made them feel.” Kim always made me feel important and special. I had the pleasure of being on the yearbook staff in 2004 with Mrs. Belair as our faculty leader.  Thanks in part to her leadership and her guidance, I remembered that experience as one of the most worthwhile and fulfilling activities of my high school years.  She kept us organized, on-track, and motivated for what felt like such a large and daunting project.  We got to share laughs and grumbles with her through the tedious yearbook-making process.  I'm sorry to hear of her family and loved ones losing her at such a young age. She has clearly contributed positively to many lives during her time on Earth, and I feel honored to have been one of those lucky people to have crossed her path.  My sincere condolences to all those who will be missing her greatly.

Mrs. Belair was the faculty editor of The Williams School's The Blueprint when I served as the paper's co-editor-in-chief. She was also the teacher of the journalism courses I took while in high school. I will always remember Mrs. Belair's dedication to and high expectations for her students. Mrs. Belair truly was a unique teacher: one who clearly went the extra mile for her students and took the time to impart them with the skills and knowledge to exceed at journalism. In fact, it was because of her that I developed my appreciation of and love for journalism and ended up working as a freelance reporter while in college. I wish I had reached out to her since my high school graduation to let her know how much I valued her instruction and passion for her students. Her loved ones are in my thoughts and prayers. So saddened to hear the news of Kim’s passing. She was such a wonderful teacher and so kind. I was an English student of hers at Williams, and my husband worked with her husband at the Norwich Police Department while they were still living in CT. We send all our love and condolences to her family.

I was Kim Belair's student at the Williams School (2001-2007).  I have fond memories of all of her classes, but I will be forever grateful to her for establishing the school's journalism program, which came to be a defining feature of my high school experience. I worked closely with Ms. Belair to roll out Williams' first school newspaper, "The Blueprint," and served as its first editor-in-chief.  Working on the newspaper with Ms. Belair was an honor and a thrill. She taught us how to find interesting stories, conduct interviews, and craft articles; while giving students total autonomy over the newspaper's content and design. She always believed in me and encouraged me to strive for success; and her influence was critical to my acceptance into NYU's journalism program. After spending a few years teaching high school English myself after college, I truly appreciate the challenge of engaging students and the tremendous amount of time and planning that goes into launching a new program and designing curriculum. I always meant to reach out to Ms. Belair to let her know how much I appreciated her guidance, but I never did. I regret that now, and I hope her family and loved ones will take comfort in knowing that her warm energy and enthusiasm brightened our classrooms; and that she was profoundly influential in shaping my personal and professional growth. I send my deepest condolences. 

I'm not sure how to sum up such an amazing friend in just a few words. Kim was a force! So smart, funny, caring, passionate and creative. I've never known anyone with so much energy and drive! She turned the Mesa Express Library into such a special place to work, loved by staff and patrons alike. We were a small crew and it felt like family to me, one of the best working experiences of my life. Kim always had a funny story to tell no matter what the occasion. I'll always remember her crafting parties, her talent for making cocktails and her tales of travel disasters :) Mike, Katie and Ryan, she loved you guys so much and always spoke proudly of you all. Sending love and hugs. I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do without you Kim. Miss you my friend ❤️

I grew up with Kim, had many days playing in the neighborhood , and celebrating birthdays . My thoughts and prayers are  with the family.

My deepest condolences for her family.  She will be missed deeply.

I was a volunteer at Mesa Express Library when Kim was in charge there.  She was a wonderful person to work with.  She was very caring and loved to talk books.  I'll never forget the first Halloween after I met her and I walked into the library and she was dressed as Amy Farrah Fowler from Big Bang Theory.  I couldn't believe how much she looked like Amy.  We laughed together about the resemblance.  I was very sad when Kim left our little library to go to the Main Library.  I rarely saw her after that.  Now all I have left is my wonderful memories of her.  

I met Kim when we were both studying advanced degrees at UCONN. I remember how warm, friendly, and outgoing Kim was, which helped me tremendously as I adjusted to graduate studies. She was always so helpful and generous. 
I also had the pleasure of working with Kim at The Williams School where she taught English. I remember her creativity, love of life, and intelligent mind. I learned a great deal from her, and I am sad to hear of her passing. 
Please know that her family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers. She touched my life, and I know she has had a lasting impact on many other people too.

I am so sorry to hear of Kim's passing. She was a wonderful colleague at The Williams School. Her Study Skills program was helpful to many students. My wife even insisted on having a copy of the organizational guidelines. Kim was also a lot of fun to work with in our faculty lip sync of Michael Jackson's "Thriller"! My condolences to the family.
