She was born in Melrose Park, Illinois, on August 8, 1963, and graduated from Walton High School in Marietta, Georgia. Laura worked in several industries throughout the years and successfully ran Anthony’s House Family Childcare, named after her first-born son, which she opened and operated out of her Florida home so that she could be with her young sons. Aside from her boys who made her beam with pride, Laura’s greatest passion was horses, owning and caring for (and being thrown from) several when she was a teenager. She kept and cared for many pets including cats, dogs, fish, frogs, gerbils, rabbits, snakes, and even birds and squirrels she found struggling in the yard.
Laura is survived by her adoring sons, Anthony Pollachioli of Abingdon, VA, and Phillip Pollachioli of Charlotte, NC; her mother, Diana De Pree of Sun Lakes, AZ; her father and stepmother, Thomas and Lynn Henderson of Atlanta, GA; her sisters, Susan McClain (Brett) of San Diego, CA, Amelia Chappell (Jason) of Decatur, GA, Claire Millburg (Tony) of Chicago, IL; her brother, Joel Henderson (Marcia) of Jeffersonville, IN; her partner and best friend, Kevin Shafer, of Mesa, AZ; and countless friends and relatives. She is preceded in death by her stepfather, Howard (Jay) De Pree.
Laura will be deeply missed by those who loved our beautiful “Appleface” and her amazing smile, good heart, and infectious laugh.
A funeral service for Laura will be held Sunday, January 22, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Valley of the Sun Mortuary & Cemetery, 10940 East Chandler Heights Rd, Chandler, AZ 85248.
