Leola Murdock 81 of Chandler, Arizona passed away on May 9, 2014, surround by family. She was born November 28, 1932 in La Mesa, Texas to Dolphus and Mildred Schmelzla. A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. at Valley of the Sun Cemetery, located at 10940 E. Chandler Heights Rd., Chandler, AZ. 85248. A Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Desert Gateway Baptist Church located at 2175 S. Gilbert Rd., Gilbert, AZ. 85295. Leola is survived by her 5 children, daughters Bobbi (David) Snow, Laura (Martin) Galchutt, sons, Jessie Barrett, Dean (Toni) Barrett, and David (Tina) Barrett, as well brothers, Fred, Roger and Franklin Schmelzla. Leola is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Leola is preceded in death by her husband A.J. Murdock, sisters Nadine Ropp and Helen Flippin, brother Leon Schmelzla and parents Dolphus and Mildred Schmelzla.
