

Leona Juanita Hargis King was born in Long Dove, OK. She was the mother of three sons, Phillip Ray (Karen), Steven Paul (Terry) and John “Mark” (Pat). She was a grandmother to six grandchildren, Stephani (Eric) Worts, Sean (Karissa) King, Shannon King, Krystle (Paul) Raynor, Leanna (Kirk) King-Harbaugh and Amanda King and nine great-grandchildren, Christopher, Alexander, Collin, Brendon, Logan, Brett, Paige, Evelyn and Amabel.
Leona is survived by her siblings Jerry (Anita) Hargis, Eva Hargis (Daryl Miller), and Wendel (Terry) Hargis. Leona was preceded in death by her parents Alvia and Shirley “Lucille” Hargis, her brothers Norman and Kenneth Hargis, her husband Donald Ray King and her granddaughter Amanda King.
Leona worked as a secretary for her church and as a lunchroom cook and Library Assistant for the Chandler School District. She finished her working career as an Executive Secretary for the Department of Psychology at Arizona State University. In addition to being a homemaker, she was most known for making her home a destination for wonderful dinners and fun. but competitive games. Her heartfelt but welcoming manner and graciousness will forever be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
