We knew him as Ling. He was funny and kind. He loved to talk about cars and his motorcycle. On his last day at school he said that he would work on getting his own shop or become a Chef. We are a small school so we are more like family.   We were all so hurt to learn of his passing and wanted to share a small piece of what he meant to us. I’m sad that I don’t get to have you pass me up on the freeway anymore after work and that I don’t get to see you driving or riding your bike around our neighborhood. I’ll miss you asking me for rides and giving me the wrong addresses on accident. I’ll miss jamming out to Jessie Murph and being in our feelings when I would give you rides home. You brought so much light into this world. You knew when I was having a hard day and you would make me laugh instantly or bring me a lemonade. We will miss you and the light you shined dearly around the shop.

I’m going to miss you forever Lingwei. There will be a time where I will see you again, and we can laugh just as hard as we did before. Life is going to be so hard to conquer without you by my side. But I’m going to live, for you. I know you would’ve wanted me to keep going, and strive for everything I ever wanted. So that is my promise to you, Ling. I’ll tell you all about it when I see you again. 🖤

Even though he only stayed with us for 7-8 months, that bond never disappeared. He’s still my big brother. I miss him everyday.

Such a goofball. Always went out of his way for the people he loved, especially if he sensed that something was wrong. 
I was in a really rough patch, Ling had came into my room while I was in the middle of a sob session. He then took off his hoodie, told me to put it on, and to put my socks and shoes on. 
He then took me on a drive, in his mustang. 
That’s all he needed to do. He didn’t care about the gas, or the fact my salty tears were now all over his hoodie. All he cared about, was my well being. 
I’m so sorry Ling. You should have lived a long, happy life.

When I moved to Arizona, Ling was one of the first people to treat me as if I had been there my whole life. Whether it was getting food, going for a drive, or sitting around doing nothing, he was the easiest person to talk to, and the best person to come to. His love showered everything around him, including me. It was because of Lingwei that I felt less alone, and he pushed me to become the best version of myself possible. 

Though I can no longer feel him physically, I will always feel him spiritually. I will keep our friendship alive for as long as I’m here, Ling. I love you
