Frances Marie Shiro passed away peacefully in Gilbert, AZ at the age of 87. She was formerly married to Robert (Bob) Shiro Sr. of Richmond, VA.
Marie is survived by her seven children: Edy, Mike (son-in-law), Cathy, Bobby, Debora (daughter-in-law), Sharon, Linda, Brenda, and Anne, and her beloved dog and companion Zoey. Marie also leaves behind three grandchildren: Lauren, Jacquelyn, and Natalie; and four great-grandchildren: Bryce, California, Mariah, and Hendrix.
Her stories and laughter captivated everyone. She loved birthday celebrations and the holidays with her family and friends. Her handwriting and calligraphy were an art form in themselves, along with her love of music (The Little River Band, among others), which filled her life with songs of joy. She was lovely in life, lovely in the end.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the caregivers, hospice, doctors, and nurses who steered her course during the good and bad times.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
A Celebration of Life to honor our mother, Marie, will be held Saturday, May 16, 2026.
