Mark Alan Koglmeier, age 70 of Chandler, Arizona passed away unexpectedly on May 7, 2023 in his home. Mark was born on March 2, 1953, to Jerry and Gloria Koglmeier in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After Mark graduated from McClintock High School in 1972, he went on to study business at Arizona State University and eventually theological studies at Christian Bible College and Seminary. In 1970, Mark met Lori at a neighbor’s party. Mark and Lori dated through high school and married in June of 1973. Mark and Lori went on to have four children, Scott, Jody Kevin, and Allison. Mark and Lori also had the privilege of hosting a bonus daughter Korin in their home for four years.
During his early careers Mark was a plumbing contractor and an estate planner. In 1990 Mark began his role as an associate pastor. During these years Mark had a large variety of responsibilities which included teaching and training leaders, discipling, leading the college group, performing weddings, counseling, and writing studies. After serving for 28 years Mark retired in 2018 and then spent his time trading stocks, reading mysteries, doing DIY projects on his home, continuing involvement at church and spending time with family members. Mark was well known for his incredible love of people and infectious humor. Mark was always seen with a smile on his face.
Mark was predeceased by his father Jerry Koglmeier. He is survived by his wife Lori, their adult children; Scott Koglmeier, (wife Kari) Jody Koglmeier Cordova, Kevin Koglmeier, (wife Kayla) Allison Koglmeier Inge, (husband Steven), Korin Manross, and ten grandchildren; Hayley Koglmeier Barbour (husband Logan), Jake, Madi and Ella Koglmeier, Sterling, Haven and Moriah Inge, Kali Koglmeier, Levi and Mia Cordova. Mark is also survived by his mother Gloria Koglmeier, his sister Mickey Repan (husband Dennis) and his brother Matt Koglmeier (wife Annie).
A memorial service will be held at Christ Church of Gilbert, 1120 S. Gilbert Road, Gilbert, Arizona on Thursday May 18th at 1pm.
