

Marlene is survived by her husband of 54 remarkable years, John O. Young, Jr.; her sons, John David, Stephen Micheal, and James Andrew; grandchildren, Grant Fisher, Claudia Fisher, Erin Young, Emily Young, Thomas Young, Robert Young, Shelby Schwartz, Amber Pugh, Mariah Young, Jonah Young and Kiera Young; her great-grandchildren, Autumn Pugh, Kylee Nicholson, Griffin Schwartz, and Cyrus Schwartz; her sister, Ethyl Mount (Henry) and brother, Robert Pullin (Bonnie).
She is preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Cynthia Louise Young; grandchildren, Marissa Young and Ryan Young (survived by parents, James and Kim); and her brother, Ralph F. Pullin, Jr.
As an educator for most of her life, Marlene inspired countless young minds, nurturing their love for learning and creativity. Outside the classroom, she found joy in her gardening and reading. An avid crafter and talented artist, Marlene brought beauty to the world around her through her handmade creations and vibrant artwork. She leaves behind a legacy of love and inspiration that will continue to flourish in the hearts of all who knew her.
A celebration of her life, officiated by Rev. Dr. Derrick Elliott and Nancy Wheeler, will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Sun Lakes Chapel, 9240 E Sun Lakes Blvd N, Sun Lakes, AZ 85248.
