I regularly think of beautiful Marsha...her smile, sense of humor, laughter, kind heart...beloved by All who had the privilege to meet her.

I am very sad to hear of Marsha’s passing. I was one of her caregivers at BMDA in the CT Scan department for many years. I actually considered her a friend because of the years she came to see me there. She would always ask about my dogs and where I was traveling to next. She would also share what the latest was in her life.

Marsha was truly a bright light in this world that will greatly be missed. I was so grateful for her cheeriness in the midst of her harder days and her encouragement to me on mine. I was always excited to see her on my patient list for the day whenever she came for her follow up scans. 

I will always cherish my memories of her and the time I got to spend with her. I know all of you will as well. Praying for your peace and comfort as you adjust to life without her here in this life. 

Marsha, Marsha, Marsha! I'm sorry I didn't get to say goodbye when I retired a year ago.  I just loved your visit when you came for your appointments. You were such a kind, beautiful person. You listened to me when I was taking care of my mom, she is cancer free now. I still think and talk about you especially when I get together with Stella. I met this beautiful lady in Gilbert several years ago. She was fun, and always so happy.  Her soul was bright and  loving. I always looked forward to see her. My heart is aching. May she make everyone in heaven as happy as she made me and everyone she came across here. Sing with the angels my friend and until we meet again. My condolences to all of her family.

I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of Marsha. She was hands down one of the kindest people I have ever met. Being her nurse for so many years was an absolute honor! As much as I was the one that was “taking care” of her; she actually cared for me just as much! She supported me through fertility treatments, pregnancy, the birth of my son, and grad school when I became a Nurse Practitioner. That’s just the person that she was; she was the patient yet she provided comfort and care to me. I will miss her smiling face and I will think of her often. A light as bright as hers will shine for eternity and I hope it brings the Hickson family comfort. Thank you for sharing a small piece of this wonderful woman with me.

Dear Bob and family,
A true light on this earth has been extinguished with the passing of you beloved wife and mother. It is with a heavy heart that we wish each of you peace during this time of grief. Marsha was always a delight and one remembered by thousands of AWAers. She was the “voice” of the company and the heart and soul like so many of that time. 

We will always have fond memories and fun memories of the first cruise we took together as couples. She and I would frequently lunch together in then downtown Tempe and even participate in the “pilot wive’s” groups. Those were wonderful foundations for so many of us “transfers” as we met each other and settled into our new Arizona lives. 

We were unaware of her (and the families’) struggles as she battled to remain healthy. Our deepest condolences for your profound loss.

Marsha was a super hostess and great cook, but so much more than that, Marsha had the ability to constantly think of others.  Her life was uncommonly lived, selflessly serving those around her.   The genuine smile that was a constant fixture on her face, and her countless encouraging kind words gave us a glimpse of a beauty that was more than skin deep.  Marsha. . . you are missed!

    We share so many memories of all of the people who came to Phoenix in 1983 to get America West up and running. You and Marsha are part of that family and you have a special place in our hearts. Bob and family:
Marsha was a sweet lady. To me she was the voice of America West. She was the first person we talked to when we called the GO/General Offices. When I went over in person I always enjoyed talking to her. Living here on the east coast I had no idea of her long cancer battle.

 Bob you have lost your life partner here on earth but I know you will be reunited in heaven.

In the early days at America West there was a short period where pilot applications were thrown into cardboard boxes without review.   I knew Bob as a fellow pilot classmate, but I had not met Marsha.  She was hired by AWA and assigned with me to organize the neglected records.  What a ray of sunshine!  She was an enthusiastic and smart coworker.  She brightened the atmosphere every day.
I am extremely sad to hear of her untimely passing.  I have experienced this kind of loss Bob, and I wish you the very best.  I live in CA now and won’t be able to make it to the memorial,  but please know my thoughts will be with you and your family.

We are heartbroken for not only the Hickson family but also - selflessly - for ourselves. Marsha's voice - "hey chickee" and smile would always invite us to share her world with us and ours with her. Our tears keep flowing but know a little bit of Marsha is in all of us who made her acquaintance and shared her beautiful life.

I met Marsha when Lori and I became friends in middle school back in the 80’s and we have remained very close ever since.

Our kids have grown up knowing Marsha as Auntie M. She has been a true inspiration to our family as we have always admired the light that she shared with us and others. This picture is a happy memory of an evening that we will always cherish. Dinner, laughter, and many stories were shared around the table that night.

Our hearts are fuller, and our lives are more enriched just from knowing Marsha. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Hickson Family.

I remember the day i met her at the mailbox the day i moved to AZ Country  and she offered me a drink i said im going to love living here and i did. I have missed her so much. Marsha was the first person I met when I dropped off my employment application at the old G.O. in Tempe in October 83. She was so cheerful and pleasant, that I was certain AWA must be a great place to work! My sincere condolences to her family 🙏...she was such a lovely human being.

I am so very sad to hear of Marsha's passing.   I had the opportunity to meet her when I was her mom's PT.  Marsha and Connie were always an inspiration on how well they took care of their mom and dad who were the sweetest people. The apples did not fall far from their tree.  Marsha was the kindest,  most joyful person I ever met.  My prayers to Bob and the rest of the family.

I am so sorry Marsha has left us as she transitioned to return to the arms of God.  My fondest memories are of the continuous laughter when we were together.  Marsha was beautiful inside and out and she lit up every room she entered.
