Meda peacefully passed away on October 1, 2026, at the age of 99. Meda was born on June 4, 1927, on a ranch in Johnson County, Wyoming, to Arthur and Marie Maher. She was the oldest of three children, with her brother John and sister Janice.
On August 8, 1944, she married Arch in the “Little White Church” in Edgerton, Wyoming, and together they raised three beautiful daughters: Peggy Jo (1945), Neva Marie (1948), and Anna Louise (1949).
Those who knew Meda will remember her remarkable brightness and clarity all the way until her passing. Meda loved her family above all else, and her faith in God guided her throughout her life. Known affectionately as Grams, she was cherished for her sweetness, kindness, intelligence, and her beautiful smile. Her patience was legendary—often compared to the patience of Job.
Meda is survived by her three daughters, Peggy (Gary), Neva, and Anna (Curt); nine grandchildren—Tammy, Dee, Vickie, Dena, Tye, Ross, Gary Dare, Teddi Jo, and Jeff; twenty three great grandchildren; and twelve great great grandchildren, with three more on the way.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arch; her parents, Art and Marie; her sister, Janice; her brother, John; and her great grandson, Seth.
A memorial service to honor her life will be held on October 19, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Sun Lakes Methodist Church, located at 9248 E. Riggs Rd., Chandler, AZ. The burial service will be held on October 24, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Natrona Memorial Gardens, located at 7430 W. Yellowstone Hwy, Casper, WY, where we will lay her to rest.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association, a reflection of Meda and many family members with heart issues.
