Phyllis, known to her friends and family as Charline, pursued a life shaped by learning and service. She earned a BA in Education from Arizona State University in 1974, followed by an MA in Education from Arizona State University in 1979. From 1999 to 2002, she continued her studies at Northern Arizona University, completing 45 hours in Educational Leadership—an enduring reflection of her steady commitment to growth and to the work of guiding others. She graduated from Chandler High School and upon graduation from college she accepted a teaching job at her high school alma mater. She later became the school librarian at Chandler High for over 30 years.
In her professional life, Phyllis served as a librarian and a history teacher. Her appreciation for books was more than an interest; it was a quiet calling that she shared with others, offering knowledge with patience and grace.
Phyllis will be remembered as deeply kind, loving, and humble, with a heart that remained centered on family. She found happiness in the simple, steady comforts of everyday life—reading, playing solitaire, and traveling. In earlier years, she also played the accordion, a gentle reminder of the warmth and joy she carried with her.
Phyllis is survived by her daughters, Abby Green, Rose West, Kathy Green, Jean Augustine, Santita Green, Nica Green, and Yessenia Green; her sons, Simon Green, Daniel Green, Carl Green, and Andy Green; her grandchildren, Junior Velasco and Jasmine Velasco; her sister, Carol Green; and her brother, Chuck Green.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Athena Green, and her parents, Phyllis J Green and Charles R Green.
