Raymond was born in Gilbert, AZ to Ramon and Adela Bernal and was the eldest of ten children. At a very young age, he learned the value of hard work. At Nana's house, Raymond would milk the family's cow every morning before school and spend his afternoons helping his father bail and haul hay; which was the family business. He is a graduate of Gilbert High School and excelled in all sports. After graduation, Raymond enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving four years as an aircraft mechanic. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned home to continue working in the family's hay business. He was the third "Ramon" of three generations of 'Ramon Bernal's Hay Hauling' business.
In Casa Grande, he soon met and fell in love with Carmen Gutierrez, his wife and favorite dancing partner. Eventually, Raymond moved the family business to Casa Grande where they raised a family and spent over 40 years running his hay enterprises. He was a well respected member of the community and will always be remembered as a quiet and easy going man with a heart of gold. Raymond loved his work and took a special interest in raising cattle and riding horses.
Raymond is survived by his five children: Richard, Steve, Cynthia, Felicia and Sabrina; his siblings: Margaret, Clara (Ron), Christina (Jay), Andrew (Delia), Joe (Sophie), Frank and Conrad (Sandy). He will be forever remembered by his 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carmen, sisters: Mary Anna and Esther, brother in law: Manuel and parents: Ramon and Adela.
Raymond will always be remembered for his generosities as a loving father, grandfather and friend. We love you and will always miss you.
