Ray Winthrop Justus III

Ray Winthrop Justus, III passed away on September 6, 2025 at the age of 79. Ray was born on November 6, 1945 to the late Ray W. Justus, II and Mary Olive Carmon Justus.
Born in Watertown, South Dakota, Ray proudly served in the United States Navy for 8 years. Following his military service, he built a successful career as a software engineer. Ray had a lifelong interest in family history and genealogy, spending much of his free time researching and preserving the stories of those who came before him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 ½ years, Judith Lynn Justus; his daughter, Laurel Lynn Scheidt (Scott); and his sister, Sandra J. Ackman. He is preceded in death by his sister, Diana F. Quick; and brothers, Dennis J. Justus and Gary L. Justus.
The family would like to give special thanks to Theme Hospice and to Majestic Manor Group Home for all the care given to Ray.
