Raymond Henry Farabaugh passed away on July 20, 2012. He is survived by Mary, his devoted wife of 64 years, his daughter and son-in-law, Lynda and Don Teehan, (Phoenix, AZ), his son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Mary Ellen Farabaugh (Evansville, IN), and his two grandsons, Raymond Farabaugh (Chicago, IL), and Daniel Farabaugh (Dallas, TX). He is also survived by his sisters, Helen Rennie (Erie, PA), Mary Lovette (State College, PA), Ann Kirsch (and brother-in-law, Norm Kirsch – Harrisburg, PA), his brother Francis Farabaugh (and sister-in-law, Connie – Erie, PA), and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joan Sable and Francis Sable (Sun Lakes, AZ and Barnesboro, PA). Ray was born at home and raised on a farm in Pine Township, PA. He married his childhood sweetheart, Mary Sable, served with the U.S. Navy Sea Bees on Okinawa during WWII, and then embarked on a 39 year career with US Airways as an Operations Manager. Throughout his life Ray demonstrated his love for his wife and children, reveled in their success as adults, and adored his two grandsons. He was a shining example of strength and humility, always putting the dreams of his family and friends above his own. Ray embraced life, loved the outdoors, and appreciated all the beauty that Mother Nature could provide. He loved sports and traveled the world with his family and friends. His thirst for life was contagious, and believed anything was possible with hard work. The words “I can’t” had no place in his vocabulary. Ray’s life will be celebrated in a service at Corpus Christi Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. and he will be laid to rest with military honors in Valley of the Sun Mortuary, Chandler, AZ. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Ray’s name to the American Diabetes Association (diabetes.org).
