Ray loved the Lodi area and was heavily involved in the Lodi Wine Country activities, pouring wine at events, working to support the evolution of Information Technology at numerous wineries, and, supporting Julie in her volunteer involvement at Hospice of San Joaquin, and, the many related fundraising events planned & offered by the Hospice of San Joaquin Butterfly Auxiliary - Lodi Chapter.
Upon Ray’s passing the following was posted on both Ray’s & Julie’s personal Facebook page(s);
"To know him was to love him. The love of my life, my soul mate, my love at first sight guy, is now at peace & out of pain. Ray fought a valiant & courageous battle with the most heinous & insidious of diseases ...Dementia/Alzheimers. He passed into God’s arms & was greeted by the Angels at 6:20 pm on Monday, March 26, 2018, and, is now a true angel himself. My heart is forever broken & the tears are many as I relive, in my mind, the best of the best our almost 41 years together provided for us. He is now with this parents, playing golf with his Dad & Uncle Charlie and enjoying everything he always loved. I love you Raymond Wetteland, always have & always will. My love & hugs to you Bunzie”.
