Ricardo Ricky Z. Reyes Jr.

Ricky was born in Quezon City, Philippines on December 28, 1958. His father Ricardo Reyes, was an architect in the Philippines and his mother, Priscilla Zosa was from Leyte. He grew up in Quezon City where he attended Claret School and matriculated at University of Santo Tomas, graduating with a degree in Civil Engineering in 1981. Ricky was employed by Metropolitan Water Works in Quezon City during his early career.

In 1981 he met the love of his life, Edna Peralta. After their courtship, they were married in Manila in 1991. Soon after, his first son, Jerome, 24, was born. In 1989, Ricky joined Don Todd Associates in San Francisco where he earned the title as Professional Engineer. Returning to the Philippines frequently, he continued to balance his work and family life, including the birth of his second son, Joel, 20. As both their professional careers advanced, Ricky and Edna were reunited for work in 1997 in Chandler, AZ, with Ricky’s continuing work at Don Todd. He moved to ARCADIS in 2006 where he supported teams by providing his expertise to numerous projects around the nation. Ricky’s greatest joy was spending time with family and friends from all over the world.

Ricky was a member of St Mary’s Catholic Church in Chandler, AZ. In addition to his wife and sons, he is survived by his mother Priscilla Zosa of Antioch, CA, brother Antonio Reyes of Manteca, CA; and sisters Lourdes (Fletcher), Fairfax, VA, Evelina Ysmael of Antioch, CA, Milagros Shelton of Anaheim, CA and Teresita (McIlvenna) of Elk Grove, CA.

A viewing will be held on September 22nd from 4 – 8 PM at Valley of the Sun Mortuary and Cemetery, 10940 East Chandler Heights Rd, Chandler, AZ 85248 with a funeral mass at 10 AM on September 23rd at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 230 W Galveston St Chandler, AZ 85225. A reception will follow at 12 PM at Holiday Inn Hotel, 1200 W Ocotillo Rd, Chandler, AZ 85248.
