Richard Thomas Challacombe

Richard was born and raised in Topeka, KS. He was a graduate of Topeka High School and a retiree from Hallmark Cards after 25 years working as a press operator at the Topeka plant. After his retirement from Hallmark, Richard worked 12 years for Topeka’s Stormont Vail Hospital as a pharmacy courier. He was a proud Marine veteran of the Vietnam War, having served two tours. Richard was born March 22, 1948, the son of George and Harriett Challacombe. Richard was an avid reader, devoted Kansas Jayhawks sports fan and loved to make people laugh. He and Donna Challacombe would have celebrated 53 years of marriage this year on September 1st.

Richard will be missed dearly and is survived by his wife, Donna, his two children Jared T. Challacombe, and Amanda J. Martinez, daughter-in-law, Kristen Challacombe and son-in-law Sergio Martinez, his twin brother William G. Challacombe, and his grandson, Alexander L. Challacombe, as well as, many nieces and nephews.

No service will be held. It is anticipated that Richard will be laid to rest at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
