We are remembering Richard fondly and sending our love. I still treasure my copy, that Richard personally signed of the book: Last Chance Ranch. This was based on the true  story of Richard's work as the football coach for juvenile delinquents at the Arizona Boys Ranch.  He helped build a team from scratch that ended up being winners in so many ways. This was s truly an inspirational story and Richard was the hero.  We know his beautiful spirit will live on in all of those who knew him. Love, Allan and Janie Berman

Dear Kathy, Linda and Gray Family, I have a story about Richard, It was the summer I was to start Lincoln H.S. and had gone to a dance at Whatz-It at Youth Village.  My Mom had not arrived to pick us up, so my friend Debi and I decided to walk home.  We were 15 and nervous about standing outside. Just before we got to the overpass on Bascom some boys drove up and started hassling us to get into the car. Richard was driving by the other way and made a screeching u-turn, he told those boys to get lost(which because of his size) they took off immediately and then he told us he was Kathy's brother and he would drive us home.  The whole way he lectured us about what could have happened and to never try that again.  I told my Mom and she said what a wonderful young man and we should be so thankful that he saw something and jumped in to help.  I don't think he ever told anyone at school about it, which would have embarrassed me and Debi. I remember him to be very happy, honorable, and a very good athlete who was never showy.  I am so sorry of your loss and wanted you to know he has been a hero of mine for decades.  I will always remember him that way and you are all in my prayers.

We're so sorry to hear of Richard Gray's passing.  Al Paoletti (*1967 Lion) and I Glennda Pack Paoletti (1970)will always remember the Great Richard Gray from our high school memories.  Sending prayers and condolences to Richard's Family.
