Our condolences to the family.  Colonel Schoonmaker was a mentor for me at McConnell AFB when I began my career as a missilier.  Later, he was my commander at 3901 SMES.  He was always a great guy and a superb commander.  He was also a great cook.  When we went on TDY trips he would ask us to pool our money for food purchases at the commissary and then he would cook up some great meals at his VOQ where we had some very memorable gatherings.  I thank God for having known him.

I went to to send Sir Richard a "Hello" email since I hadn't heard from him in a few month. I always loved seeing his smiling face and the Cracker Jacks treats he'd bring to El Sol Travel.  Richard and Mary Agnes were long time clients of mine traveling the world by Princess Cruises.  Wishing the family lots of LOVE and wonderful memories. I only today learned of Col Schoonmaker's passing.  Col Schoonmaker was our Commander when I was assigned to the 3901 SMES, Vandenberg AFB, CA.  Col Schoonmaker was a great commander, leader, and person.  It was a pleasure working for such a wonderful individual.  My condolences to the family.
