Bob was a generous and kind man who always led with a smile. A proud Vietnam Veteran, he served as a Sergeant in the United States Airforce. Until his dying breath he was a staunch supporter of the American Dream and the promise of liberty and freedom that the United States represented.
A commercial pool builder, he was the man behind many of Arizona and California’s signature swimming pools and water features including the Hubbard Family Swim Schools, the lakes and pools at The Phoenician Resort, The Scottsdale Princess, The Crescent Hotel, The Arizona Grand Hotel, The WigWam Resort, The Greyhound Building Fountain, The Phoenix Swim Club, The Riverside School for the Deaf and Blind, the Blackstone Country Club in Denver, Marine Corp Air Station Yuma, Fort Carson Colorado Springs and the refurbishment of community pools in Parker, Baghdad, Vacaville, Ridgecrest, Wheat Ridge, Sun City, Holbrook, Winslow, and Wickenburg. He also had an illustrious tour of the Motel 6 chain refurbishing many of their pools throughout the southwest.
Bob was most at home with a beer in his hand and his cherished family surrounding him at his ranch in Old Ocotillo or the cab of his Bobcat, building the latest idea that crossed his mind. Family was everything to him. Bob’s greatest pride was his two sons and his daughter. Their success and happiness were his joy. That only grew with the success and happiness of his 12 grandchildren and his 2 great-grandchildren, with a third on the way.
He is reunited with his beloved parents, Robert Glenn and Miriam Ester Ada Edgar and his brother Wayne “Louie” Edgar.
He is survived by his dedicated wife Patricia Katherine Edgar, and his children and their spouses Robert and Pam Edgar, Gregory and Margaret Edgar and Laura and Jason Meyers, as well as his sisters Miriam “Moo” Edith Edgar and Vicki “Cora Lou” Cartwright.
The family will be celebrating Bob on August 10, 2025 at 2 PM at the Gilbert Historical Society. Any who wish to attend please let us know at Robert Norman Lawson Edgar Memorial RSVP (link below).

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be considered for the Tunnels to Towers Foundation in support of their Homeless Veteran Program or Folds of Honor, organizations that reflect Bob’s love of Country. At long last pal, your ship has come in, Rest in Peace!
