I have just learned of the passing of my dear friend, Bob Goldstein. As I sat in my office today I had this strong need to seek him out and tell him how much he has meant to me through the many years we've known each other. Alas, I am heartbroken at the finding of his passing.

Bob and I first met in 1967 when I asked him to help me create yet unrealized bank marketing concepts for that time. His talents were unmatchable and the awards that we garnered for excellence in financial advertising were in the hundreds. However, Bob was much more to me than just a photographer for hire. Our relationship grew over the years and Bob  was my closest friend, a mentor, a guru of wisdom, a guiding soul for me, both in business and personal life. He truly was one of the most influential people that have ever impacted my life ... and I mourn his loss and wish I could roll back time. Memories of his home in New Milford, NJ, his little dog, Peter, his classic grey Mercedes ...  his two wonderful children and of course, dear Betty ... my heart is heavy knowing that he is gone. 

The picture posted of Bob was taken by me in 1974 and used for an inset story about Bob in a book that was published about the Ramapo people of New Jersey and New York. Bob had done all the photography for the book and received accolades and awards for his outstanding and sensitive studies of these people.

The world has lost a wonderful contribution to mankind and we have lost a dear and loving friend. My wishes to Betty, his children and to all that shared in his life would be to carry forever his commitment to life and to all in so, so many ways.
