

Ronald “Ronnie” John Denne, Jr., age 50, passed peacefully from this earth on December 22, 2025. Ronnie was a beloved son, brother, uncle, partner, and friend whose kindness, passion, and advocacy touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.
An Arizona native, Ronnie attended schools in both the Kyrene School District and Tempe Union High School District before graduating from Corona del Sol High School, where he excelled as a student-athlete. He lettered in three sports, with baseball holding a special place in his heart. Ronnie loved all things sports, especially watching soccer, cheering for the Los Angeles Chargers, and passionately supporting Arizona State University football.
Ronnie continued his education at Arizona State University, where he earned his undergraduate degree, and later obtained his Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in School Psychology from San Diego State University. Working in education was more than a career, it was his calling. Ronnie was a tireless advocate for students and staff alike, dedicating his life to ensuring that others felt supported, understood, and empowered. A champion for everyone he knew, he led with empathy, integrity, and an unwavering belief in the potential of others.
Above all, Ronnie will be remembered for his generous spirit, his loyalty, and his ability to make people feel seen and valued. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion, advocacy, and love that will continue to inspire those who knew him.
Ronnie is survived by his parents, Ron and Lydia Denne; his devoted sister, Vanessa Whitlark, and brother-in-law, Brian Whitlark; his cherished nieces, Lily and Lauren Whitlark; and his loving partner, Erin Smith, along with her daughters, Taylor and Morgan Smith, whom he adored, and a large extended loving family.
Ronnie’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, colleagues, and the countless lives he impacted through his work and his unwavering support. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
In accordance with Ronnie’s wishes, a private family burial has been held. Family and friends are warmly invited to gather in celebration of his vibrant spirit and the meaningful life he lived. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, February 21st, at 12:30 p.m. in the Corona del Sol High School Auditorium, located at 1001 E. Knox Road, Tempe, AZ 85284. A reception will follow in the school cafeteria.
