Ronald Puvalowski, 85, passed away peacefully at his winter home in Sun Lakes, Arizona, after a brief stay in hospice.
Ron Puvalowski spent his life being a devoted son, a loving husband, father and grandfather, and a steadfastly loyal friend and neighbor. He was a good man who lived a good life, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him will greatly miss him.
Born and raised on his family’s dairy farm in Ubly, Michigan, Ron was the eldest child of Raymond and Grace Puvalowski. In his early 20s, Ron moved to the Detroit area and took a job with Pontiac Motors, where he would work as an electrician for more than 35 years. In 1967, he met and married the love of his life, Nola, and they were blessed with two children, Kevin and Keith, and four grandchildren. (Ron and Nola celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary the day before Ron died.)
Ron loved sports, especially baseball, and, before struggling with his mobility later in life, Ron was an excellent bowler and an enthusiastic (if not very good) golfer. He loved picking stocks and followed the market to the point of obsession. And, as a multitude of family, friends, and neighbors can attest, to the very end he was an avid and truly gifted card player: whether playing euchre, pinochle, Wizard, swoop, or any of a dozen other games played over the years, Ron’s shrewd play would find him victorious more often than not.
Ron is survived by his wife, Nola; his sons Kevin and Keith; his daughter-in-law Kimberly; his grandchildren Benjamin (and Benjamin’s wife Jordan), Evelyn, Ryan, and Evan; his sisters Doty Glaza (and her husband Larry) and Karen Mausoff (and her husband Steve); and his sisters-in-law Mary Catherine Paske and Monica Bell. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Grace, his in-laws Stanley and Stella Piaskowski, his brothers Gary and Bob Puvalowski (and Bob’s wife Kathy), his sister-in-law Joanne Piaskowski, and his brother-in-law Ron Paske.
A funeral mass celebrating Ron’s life will be held on June 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Christ the Redeemer Church, 2700 Waldon Road, Lake Orion, Michigan. Gathering at the church will begin at 10:30 a.m. A luncheon will follow at the Church.
