

Ron was born in Lackawanna, New York and adopted by Frank and Stella Zmyslinski at the age of five in Erie, PA along with his sister Kathy. He received his B.A. from Gannon College and M.D. from SUNY Buffalo. He met his wife Mariann Ehret in Erie and they married on June 6, 1970. After serving two years as a lieutenant commander in the Navy, Ron continued his medical training concluding with a fellowship in cardiology and a subspecialty in cardiac electrophysiology. After research positions in Rochester, NY and Columbia, SC Ron moved his wife and three kids to AZ where he would serve the community via private practice for over twenty years. Once life settled down in Arizona Ron, also an eagle scout, spent time with his sons exploring the Arizona wilderness and observing the skies in a small observatory he set up in his backyard. In his later years Ron could be found in the garden growing all manner of plants and herbs often donated to help support the local gardening community. After 78 years Ron succumbed to complications stemming from his lifelong battle with diabetes. Ron is survived by his loving wife Mariann of 52 years and three children Simon, Steve and Sheryl.
