Rosie G. Vega

Rosie G. Vega, 78, passed away on August 7, 2026. She was born on November 29, 1947, in Mesa, Arizona, to Francisco R. and Carlota S. Guerrero. Rosie later made her home in Chandler, Arizona, where she remained closely connected to family, friends, and faith throughout her life.

Rosie graduated from Westwood HS in Mesa, carrying forward the steady determination and pride that marked the way she approached each season of life.

Over the years, Rosie worked at Intel, Microchip, and Mesa Community College. In addition to her professional life, she devoted herself to caring for children from other families as well as her own grandchildren—offering the kind of dependable presence that made people feel safe, seen, and supported.

On October 15, 1966, Rosie married Raul Vega. They shared their lives together until his death in 2021, building a family grounded in commitment and enduring love.

Rosie is survived by her five children: son, Jaime (Kari) Vega; son David Vega; son Frankie (Sandra) Vega; daughter, Suzanne (Tony) Ortiz; and son Paul Vega. She is also survived by her grandchildren: David Jr., Heather, Kurstie, Jacob, Frankie Jr., Jordan, Tony III, Gabriella, Marko, Dallas, Xavier, Paul Jr., Sophia, and Roman; and by her great grandchildren: Nicholas, Kemp, Aria, Kian, Alina, and Baby Roro. Her surviving siblings include 2 sisters: Frances and Mary; and 2 brothers: Ray and Arnold. She is preceded in passing by her siblings: Adam, Lupe, Eva and Edelia.

Rosie took great pride in her home and in the care she gave to those around her. Few things spoke her love more clearly than her cooking—widely remembered as exceptional, and shared with a generosity that brought people together. A devoted Catholic, she was a longtime member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Chandler.

To many, Rosie was the steady center of the family—an anchor who kept people connected, reached out even across distance, and made sure no one was forgotten. She was also known for her quick wit and spirited presence, affectionately called “Loca Rosie” by those who loved her—someone whose warmth, candor, and lively heart could fill a room and leave it better than she found it.

Her greatest legacy is the family she loved so deeply and spent her life holding together. Her love will live on in the meals shared, the laughter and stories passed down, the traditions she created, and the generations of her family who will continue carrying pieces of her with them.

Mom/Nana Rosie will be deeply missed, endlessly loved, and forever at the heart of her family.

Visitation services for Rosie will be held on Tuesday, August 18 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Valley of the Sun Mortuary and Cemetery: 10940 E Chandler Heights Road, Chandler, Arizona 85248. The Rosary will occur at 6:30 PM.

The Funeral Mass for Rosie will follow the next day on Wednesday, August 19 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church: 230 W Galveston Street, Chandler, Arizona 85225. Afterwards, a potluck luncheon and gathering will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 644 E Chandler Blvd, Chandler, Arizona 85225.
