Roy A. Larsen was born in Chicago, Illinois on Oct. 30, 1932 and went to rest in Chandler, Arizona on March 25, 2013 after a long valiant fight. He is preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Dagny Larsen and his nephew Richard Ciesynski. After an honorable discharge from the US Army, he attended and graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was a trouble shooter for the electro motive division of GM for years. He married the love of his life, Barbara in 1964. They bought Elcon, a company specializing in electrical control panels. He and Barb travelled extensively. They retired to Sun Lakes, AZ. in 1995, where Roy continued his passion for fishing by joining the Angler's Club. He helped with the fishing derbies where the club would have children from the community come to fish. Some derbies were for children with special needs. He was a terrific bridge player. Roy was quite the story teller and captivated his audience with his intelligence and robust laugh, always with a twinkle in his eye. He is survived by his wife of nearly 49 years, Barbara, brother James (Betty), brother-in-law, Frank Van Duyse, sister-in-law-, Joann Brown (Michael) and nieces and nephews, Sharon Maffei (Wayne), Michael Ciesynski (Jeanne), Kim Cusack (Jerry), Tracey Bale (Kelly), Sid Prise (Kathy Rosenfeld) and Mary Eileen Prise (Ubi Sheikh).
