Our Mom, Ruby Lee Woodruff, was born in Parma, Missouri on the bright and joyous day of March 15, 1927 and passed away in Tempe, Arizona on February 28, 2018. She was 90 years old. Ruby was born to Nora and Grigg Woodruff and was the youngest of 9 children. Mom loved school and had many friends. She was one of the original "Rosie the Riveters" working in St. Louis, Missouri during the War times of WWII. Mom met our Dad, Clyde W. Kneezle on a glorious winter day at the Union Station in St. Louis and fell madly in love. The two of them relocated to San Diego, California and started their life together for the next 35 years. Our Mom and Dad had 4 children. Sharon Dale, Gail Clydean, Gregory Alan and Robin Lynn. Little Gregory died at the age of two due to a very rare and incurable disease in those days. Robin came along and saved our family from very broken hearts.
The Kneezle family was lucky enough to have been stationed in the Azores Islands for almost two years. Mom came alive and starred in many shows on the island and the Kneezle family had a wonderful, adventurous filled time!
The next station orders were for Fairfield, California where Mom and Dad bought a home and raised the family. Mom was a stay at home Mom, having coffee in the mornings with all the other Moms on the block and enjoyed raising her children. Once Robin started to school, Mom started working for the School District Cafeteria where she was quickly promoted from baker to manager of her own school.
When Daddy passed away, Mom remained for a few years in Fairfield, but eventually moved to Arizona. She bought her own home where she and her beloved Shi-tzu,"Joey", lived happily. She joined the group "In Joy" with the Arizona Christian Church and made many, many friends. She was involved in the birthday group, Dominos as well as worked in the church office. Mom was in the Church Choir and sang at Carnegie Hall in New York, one of Mom's biggest dreams! Quite the active lady and she was very happy.
Mom is survived by her children Sharon (Reed), Gail, Robin (Paul) and her six beloved grandchildren and four great grandchildren, Kelly Lynn, Scott William, Bethaney Lee, Nicole Jean, James Reed, Ryan Gregory and her great grandchildren, Nicholas, Khloé, Sophia, Dustin and Ruby who lovingly referred to Mom as "GREAT".
Bless you Mama and rest in blissful Peace. . . .
Your Girls, Sharon, Gail and Robin
