Sheila was born in Youngstown, OH on October 25th, 1947, to Paul and Roberta Sample. She grew up in Pittsburgh, PA where she met and married the love of her life, Louis R. Edgar (aka Cowboy). They were married 55 years. They raised their two sons in Plum, PA until relocating to Arizona in 1998.
After being the best stay at home mom and raising her sons, Sheila earned her degree in echocardiography and worked as an echocardiographer for Arizona Heart and finished her career at Chandler Regional Hospital. She spent her retirement always making sure to know all the details in her families’ lives; asking about every facet of your life and she always remembered your conversations. She had a knack for knowing just what to ask and loved to use her title of “mother” or “Mama E” to ask you ANYTHING and explain EVERYTHING. She made you feel loved and appreciated, whether it was her kisses while hanging up after a phone call or signing every card with “All Our Love” while underlining all the key Hallmark words.
She could be a prankster and successfully scared the crap out of almost all her family members at some point in their lives. She treated her grandchildren to weekends away from their parents with pool time, golf cart rides and evenings watching the Chiller network. She disliked making a fuss and used more paper plates than Chinet could make. She was loved deeply and will be missed immensely.
She was predeceased by her father and stepmother; Paul and Dorothy Sample, her mother Bobbie Sample and stepfather Steve Morvack. She is survived by her sons, Lou (Jen) Edgar, Justin (Beth) Edgar; grandchildren Jacob Edgar, Benjamin Edgar, Chelsea Edgar, Ciara Edgar and her two dogs Itsy Bitsy and Peanut. Sheila was a wonderful and loyal daughter, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend.
Private graveside services will held with immediate family at Valley of The Sun Mortuary, Sun Lakes, AZ.
