Steve was born in Merrillville, Indiana on December 23, 1963 to Norman and Mary Pollitt. He passed away peacefully on November 30th with his family by his side. He is survived by his brother, Larry Pollitt, Larry’s wife, Jennifer, of Mankato, MN, sister, Pamela 'Dawn’ Norfleet of Chandler, AZ and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Mary.
Steve moved to Arizona in 1982 and soon after nearly all of his immediate family followed him here. He flew with Southwest Airlines as a flight attendant for 30 years. He retired from the career he loved in 2018. Steve's SWA colleagues always looked forward to flying and working with him. His generous nature and thoughtful ways never went unnoticed by passengers and colleagues. After retiring he spent several years on his houseboat or RV living at one of Arizona's popular lakes, Lake Pleasant. His adopted dog, Lucy, a Chihuahua was a special light in his life and everyone who knew Steve also knew Lucy. Steve always had a fun-loving spirit, a huge heart and never met a stranger. He was beyond generous to family and friends and was always the first to lend a helping hand wherever and whenever needed. He loved to travel with cruising being his favorite vacation of choice. As a big sports fan, he enjoyed the AZ Cardinals and AZ Diamondback games each season.
Steve will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him and most especially by his loving family. A Celebration of Life is being planned for February.
