Suzanne "Suzy" Pulsifer Lynn

Suzanne “Suzy” Pulsifer Lynn, 77, passed away on July 13, 2026. Born May 2, 1949, in Seattle, Washington, Suzanne built a life marked by steady devotion to family, generous service to others, and a quiet creativity that showed itself in countless thoughtful ways. She resided in Tempe, Arizona.

Suzanne graduated from the University of California Los Angeles. While at UCLA, she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority and the Bruin Belles, UCLA’s student-led service association that assisted John Wooden with events for the UCLA basketball team. Her last year at UCLA she met Bob Lynn, a Basketball star Center at Long Beach State and made a beautiful life with him until his death in 1998.

After college, Suzanne worked as a flight attendant for TWA, flying internationally and stationed in New York City. She later lived in Lyon, France, with her then fiancée Bob, who played basketball professionally there. They married in 1973 and became parents to Lisa, Chris and Adam, all while working at the UCLA Brain Research Institute as an administrative Assistant.

In 1984, after living in Southern California, Suzanne and Bob moved to Tempe, Arizona, where she became a familiar and trusted presence to many families providing childcare to several of the neighborhood children from her home during the years when her own children were young, teaching them to swim, helping them check out library books, and guiding them through crafts, dancing and cooking that made ordinary afternoons feel special.

Suzanne worked as an Administrative Assistant at Arizona State University at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, bringing diligence and care to her work and to the people around her until her retirement.

Suzy was team mom for every one of her sons’ basketball teams that their dad Bob coached, always prepared and always making sure there were plenty of snacks. She also never missed a dance performance that Lisa had and documented them for all of her teammates.

She was highly involved in the PTA at her children’s high school, Corona del Sol, where she took photographs of all the students and created a much-loved calendar, ensuring every CDS student was included. To her children’s friends, Suzy was the fun second mom—welcoming, attentive, and unfailingly present.

Suzy’s warmth was matched by her talent and imagination. She loved needlepoint, sewing, macrame, making jewelry, and painting. She also loved gardening and maintained a beautiful yard. Her affection for animals was constant; she loved dogs and cats and always had at least one spoiled with treats.

As “Grammy Suzy,” she delighted in showing up for her grandchildren—watching dance shows and cheering at basketball, volleyball, and football games, video camera in hand to capture their every move. Her love was practical and enduring, expressed through time given freely and a deep interest in the lives unfolding around her.

Suzy is survived by her daughter, Lisa Hammond; her sons, Chris Lynn (Moira) and Adam Lynn(Bethany); and her grandchildren Taylor, Sydney, Jake, Avery, Ryan, Charlotte and Grayson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 24 years, Robert “Bob” Lynn; her parents, Allen and Kathryn Pulsifer; and her brother, AJ Pulsifer.

A memorial service will be held at Ocotillo Golf Club 3751 S. Clubhouse Dr. Chandler, Az 85248on Saturday, August 22nd 11am-1pm.
