Thomas Glen Shumaker, a compassionate psychotherapist, father, and grandfather passed away in Arizona on June 3, 2026 at the age of 67. For many years, Thomas spent his life in Illinois helping others in need of mental health support. He was a strong advocate for social services and mental health awareness, and was deeply committed to the health and wellbeing of his clients. In his free time, he was an electronics enthusiast, spending his time building computers, listening to jazz on his prized record player, and perfecting the acoustics with a variety of specialized stereo equipment. He enjoyed watching Chicago sports and fishing. He is survived by his children: Michael (Amanda) and Lisa (Brian). Thomas is also survived by his loving sisters Beverly (Pat) and Susan (Bill). His legacy lives on through his three grandchildren: Emma, Silas, and Vincent; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents: Orville “Bud” and Shirley Shumaker.
