Tu Tran was born in Raoping, Guangdong, China on March 9, 1933. At the age of three, he and his family moved to Vietnam, where he grew up with his three siblings. He married Phung Huynh in 1957 and moved to Saigon, Vietnam, raising a happy family with ten children while running his own business. In 1992, he and his family moved to America, sponsored by his eldest son who had immigrated prior.
He loved spending time with family and friends including moments like gardening, playing cards and chess, traveling the world, and enjoying delicious food -- especially meals cooked by and shared with the family every Sunday.
Tu was a pillar of strength supporting the entire family. He always emphasized the importance of education because he wanted to ensure his loved ones were given the opportunities he didn’t always have. His greatest wish was for everyone in his family to freely pursue their own dreams.
May he rest in peace, surrounded by the eternal respect and love of friends and family. Thank you to everyone for joining us in honoring Tu’s memory and legacy.
