Beautiful Ginny in body, soul, and spirit- has been my rock for these past 12 plus years' - she was my mentor, my support, my rock to hang on to when falling into that deep dark pit - she opened her heart, listened, comforted, guided, and loved me  through many  difficulted times - Truly the Glory and Presence of the Lord followed in all she did and truly that is her legacy on this earth.


Ginny was a great friend, I remember the first time I had the pleasure of meeting her. In Michigan in February of 2009. We became immediate friends.

Ginny, dear ... l can only imagine the glory of the Lord that you are now experiencing!  I'm grateful to know that your suffering is now over and that you are in the comfort of our Holy Father, even though you will be greatly missed by many.  Your absence will leave a vacancy that only the Lord can fill.  You taught so many of us so much by the way you walked with your Father, the steadfastness of your prayer life, and the Christian life you modeled to all that encountered you. I was blessed to have known Ginny at church in our ladies Bible study.  She was a true friend, dear sister in Christ, and faithful prayer warrior.  What I love and miss most about Ginny was the way she let her conversation and prayers be “seasoned with grace as with salt.” She often interjected the word of God into her speech and prayers, turning our focus to the Lord.  She often quoted Psalm 139:14.  I can truly say  she was “fearfully and wonderfully made,” very special indeed!

More than a friend, feels like a life time that you gave love, care and comfort. You were indeed a mother to many spiritual children and loved with your whole heart.  You walked with me through life, never failing to encourage and praise.  I have so many memories, from laughing-oh that laugh of yours! To singing Jimmie Buffett songs in the back seat of the car, from Heart Quest to Rooted....you my dear a faithful soldier in God's army and I can only imagine how heavy your crown is, I am forever blessed by having been loved by you.  I will miss you and hope you are waiting on the other side with one of your great hugs.  

Having just accepting Jesus into my life, the Sisters Loved By God Bible Study group was my first venture in being around Christian women. I remember walking into the room and seeing many ladies looking very intently at their bibles and the teacher. As Pam started her teaching I remember hearing a lovely lady shouting out affirmations throughout the lesson. Then I heard Ginny laugh, and right then and there I knew she would be my "go to" person. She was not "typical", she stood out, unafraid, not holding back and I loved her for that.

Ginny had a GREAT sense of humor and what a positive attitude. If you ever had a bad day all you needed to do was talk to Ginny and everything was okay. She will be sadly missed. She made everyone feel important. 

Jim and family,  I am very sorry to hear of Ginny's Passing.  She was so much fun and I have a lot of special memories of Ginny.  Know that you have people who have their arms around you and the family have and are praying for you all.  Know that you have friends far ad close that is with you.

Ginny's warm and fun personality will be missed. Spending time with her was not work, even though folks called it work. I enjoyed every bit of time I spent with Ginny and Jim. fun folks, fun times. Best wishes to Jim and the family. We still make her sleazy greasy baked bean recipe.

Ginny is the mother of my dear friend, Jaime. I met them while in college. They (Jim and Ginny) treated me like one of their own! I visited often when they lived in Cadillac, MI. Always enjoyed the love, laughter, and hot tub. I went with Jaime and Ginny on vacation to FL, and that was my very first ‘real’ vacation! So much fun was had!!! My heart breaks for the Barton Family. Ginny was such a great person, and her sense of humor reminded me of my own Mom. After Jaime moved to AZ, Jim and Ginny graciously let me be a part of surprising Jaime when she came back to the Mitt to visit. They picked me up, and kept the surprise a secret. I will never forget her! She has left an imprint in my heart that will last forever! My thoughts and prayers are with the Barton Family during this difficult time. 

Words can’t express how great of a woman she was. To me she was an encourager, leader, teacher, and adopted grandma. Growing up our family had moved many times and friends would become family. While living in Cadillac Mrs Ginny had treated me like a granddaughter. She was the first one to teach me how to plant flowers and garden, while gardening she taught me that you need to put certain flowers in certain places so they can grow into their full potential. Another thing she taught me is how to make strawberry jam and every summer we would have a strawberry jamboree (she always had a way with words). She taught me patience and how to measure with your heart when it came to sugar… Mrs Ginny was a grandma to me when I didn’t have one near, I learned more from her than I did my own grandmothers. She will always hold a special place in my heart and she will always be grandma Ginny to me. 

I can not even begin to adequately express my love for this woman. A true friend, humble servant and a mighty warrior for the Kingdom of God. My heart is broken but I find comfort knowing you are with Jesus and whole once again. You ran the race with endurance and have finished well.  Lady Ginny ~ you may be gone but you will never be far from my heart. Until we meet again sweet friend, I love you and job well done!
