OBITUARY

Andrew Nicholas Comose

December 2, 1947May 13, 2019

CHAPIN – Andy Comose, 71, was unexpectedly taken from his family on earth and joined his family in heaven on May 13, 2019. A devoted and loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather, Andy spread warmth and love wherever he went and to whomever he met each day. Born December 2, 1947 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Frank and Mary Louise Comose, Andy was the third of four children and worked hard, even from a young age, to help the family whenever he could. A star athlete in both football and baseball, he graduated from Elder High School in Cincinnati in 1966. After graduation, he received an invitation to play baseball from the Cincinnati Reds. However, he declined the invitation and entered the Cincinnati Police Academy, in order to provide for his family. In 1967, he was set up on a date with a young girl, Patricia Clark, who would be by his side for the next 52 years, sharing many adventures, laughs and growing a strong and loving family that was by his side up to his last breath. They married in 1969 and were blessed with two children, Timothy and Jennifer. Andy left the police force in 1970 and moved to Delray Beach, Florida where he and Trish went into business together. Andy continued to work for himself his entire life through many different, successful business ventures that took him from Florida to Atlanta, Georgia in 1981 and then finally Chapin, SC in 1989 where he lived for the remainder of his life, with Trish by his side, surrounded by his children, grandchildren and friends. Andy was truly a person about whom it can honestly be said; to know Andy was to love him. He was generous beyond description. He had an incredible sense of humor, and loved nothing better than retelling a family story, especially while sharing a meal. Andy never missed an opportunity to be involved in his children’s activities and was a devoted grandfather regularly attending concerts, recitals and sporting events, always watching with a proud smile and a gleam in his eye, as his life revolved around his family. In addition to his many friends, Andy is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Trish Comose; his son, Tim and daughter-in-law, Cindy Comose, Chapin, SC; daughter, Jenn and son-in-law, Pete von Ahn, Chapin, SC; brother, Tommy Comose, Cincinnati, OH; sister, Carol Smith, Laguna Miguel, CA; sister-in-law, Eileen Comose, Philadelphia, PA. His greatest blessings were his nine grandchildren: Andrew Comose, Alexis Comose, Zachary Comose, Sophia Comose, PJ Comose, Petey von Ahn, Ethan von Ahn, Lucas von Ahn and Quinn von Ahn, all of Chapin, SC. He also was loved by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and was followed around constantly by his faithful dogs, Sammy and Charlie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary Louise Comose of Lakeworth, FL; brother, Jimmy Comose of Philadelphia, PA; in-laws, Joe and Charlotte Clark of Chapin, SC and sister-in-law, Peggy Comose of Cincinnati, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in honor of Andy’s love and generosity to all children, not just to his own family but to all children he met. A rosary will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, May 20, 2019, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 195 Amicks Ferry Road, Chapin, SC, and the family will receive guests from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A funeral mass celebrating his life will be held Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m., followed by a graveside service and luncheon.

Andy always had the light of his smile in the twinkle in his eyes. I will always remember his warmth, his love of family and, of course, his humor. My world has been a better place having had Andy in it. Rest in peace, Andy.

Andy was, as described, a happy and loving man. I never saw him without a smile. I loved to go to Publix and see him there because he was so genuine and happy to see any one, but especially parishioners.
I will miss him as will all of his friends, and they are many.
Rest in peace, dear Andy.

I sat near Andy in many school classes at Elder High School. He was a young man with a possitive outlook on life. He will be missed here on earth, but welcomed into heaven. God protect and keep him..Rest In Peace!
