She was born in Greenwood, SC on September 28, 1936. Ann was the daughter of the late John H. and Irene Bishop Hart.
She graduated from Greenwood High School in 1954 and Lander College in 1958. She married the love of her life, Robert M. Johnson in 1965. She worked as a teacher for many years, then she was employed by SLED until she retired in 1998. Her favorite pastime was dancing. Her proudest achievement was being the best wife, sister, mother, and grandmother anyone could have.
Ann is survived by her husband of 56 years, Robert Johnson, her sister Dale Hart Johnson (William) of Greenwood, her son Robert (Elizabeth) of Smithfield, Virginia, her daughter Jayne Hollifield (David) of Pineville, North Carolina, and her grandchildren, Nicholas, Benjamin, and Molly, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, John Jr.
Ann was a long-time member of Lake Murray Presbyterian Church and Ruthann’s Sunday School Class.
A funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Lake Murray Presbyterian Church, 2721 Dutch Fork Road, Chapin, SC 29036. A graveside service will follow at Bush River Memorial Gardens, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212. Visitation will be before the service at 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the church.
Pallbearers are Benjamin Hollifield, Nicholas Johnson, David Hollifield, Robert Johnson Jr, Matthew Johnson, and Walter Johnson. The Officiant for the service is Dr. Ben Sloan.
Donations may be made in her name to Lake Murray Presbyterian Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
